Luke Humphries continued his defence of the title with a 3-1 victory over Jonny Clayton at this stage last year and his eventual successor as champion Mike De Decker won 3-0 against James Wade.

A strike by Ché Adams and a Zakhar Volkov own goal gave Steve Clarke's men a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture played in Hungary, and they will be hopeful of another three points on home territory as they look to continue to push for an appearance in their first World Cup finals since 1998.

Goals by Reece James, Harry Kane and Eberechi Eze gave England a comfortable 3-0 win in March's reverse fixture at Wembley Stadium, and while Latvia have the home advantage this time around, Thomas Tuchel's men will go into the match without fear after an excellent 5-0 win in Serbia in their previous qualifier last month.
